Shockwave Therapy at North Surrey Chiropractic Clinic

shockwave therapy illustrationYour body has everything it needs to heal, when given the right conditions. Shockwave therapy helps your body increase its network of blood vessels and send extra resources to injured tissues. By directing energy pulses at affected areas, this technique increases circulation, loosens tight muscles, and promotes overall healing.

Conditions We Can Help

Shockwave therapy is great for all kinds of musculoskeletal conditions. We recommend this approach for both acute and chronic conditions, including:

  • Calcium deposits in muscles
  • Chronically tight muscles
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tendonitis
For best results, we advise combining this therapy with chiropractic adjustments.
We also see many patients who come in just for this service.

Our Approach to Care

At North Surrey Chiropractic Clinic, we always start by determining which approach is most appropriate for your condition. This service isn’t right for everyone, as it requires a longer timeline of care.

Shockwave breaks down damaged blood vessels, causing minor inflammation that takes a few days for recovery. Our team of chiropractors will recommend this technique no more than once or twice a week. As you start to heal, we can stretch sessions out to once every two weeks.

A Faster, Better Recovery

Each session only takes two to three minutes, yielding powerful results in a very short amount of time. Patients typically feel some discomfort as injured tissues break down.

Any mild soreness you experience should last no more than 24 hours. To relieve pain, we recommend applying ice and resting the area. If you have plantar fasciitis, try to stay off your feet as much as possible the day after your appointment.

Insurance usually covers this service, as we bill all our services under general chiropractic care.
